Certainly skepticism over man made global warming is to rise after the recent announcement that sea level is not rising at the rate earlier stated. Yet another set back for the climate change movement and its proponents.
Nature Geoscience published its study in 2009 confirming the IPCC claims of rising oceans. IPCC, in 2007, concluded that oceans could rise as much as 32 inches by the year 2100. Now Nature Geoscience has withdrew that study after claiming the discovery of "mistakes" that undermine the findings.
To many, these revelations cast a large shadow over players in these agencies that the public wanted to trust. "The debate is over," asserted Al Gore years ago in an attempt to created doubt of the findings of skeptics. Well Mr. Gore, the debate is as alive as it ever was, and now there are real questions to the true motivations behind the global warming scare that has been growing for years.
If these supporters of man made global warming were at all intellectually honest, they would have embarrassed debate on the subject. Though debate they would have had a forum to demonstrate data and facts and grow the science and support. People who value science know this. Instead, they have taken every opportunity to attempt to slander and discredit their opponents, even to the point of assigning skeptics the responsibility of "killing" people," by causing inaction.
Luckily for the world that nothing was really accomplished in Copenhagen. If they succeeded in passing some kinda accord at the summit, we could be looking at large tax grabs to aid countries that would be most effected by these rising waters. Even with these enlightening confessions, these world leader would have continued to push for these re-distributional policies until after more data could be collected. Even if the ocean levels where to be proved stable or receding, they would wish to continue these policies for the "greater good."
We now must find the truth to the question, "what is their endgame?" It is too hard to believe that those at the center of this climate change movement where unaware of the gross lack of substantial data to support their cause. So why continue the deceit? The theories that many are sharing range from the abusive to the very scary. It is time for real investigations into this matter and hold responsible the truly guilty.
On a lighter note, President Obama can rest easy knowing he was able to keep at least one promise. In 2008 he assured the American people if elected, the oceans would stop rising.
